A couple of years ago I wrote a 40,000-word novella for Wattpad's Open Novella Contest. It was so much fun, with the added bonus of working alongside (well, in an online sense) a ton of other writers. The support was phenomenal and the motivation, strong.
Fast forward to Covid, and I found myself with more time than usual to spend writing. So, write I did. I published my fifth novel for young adults in July of this year (The Peculiar Language of Llamas) and then turned my attention to my ONC entry, Tangofish. The story is about life after loss, and after rereading the novella, I decided it needed to be "oomphed" up to become a full-length novel.
And so, here we are, and here I am, putting the final spit and polish on Tangofish. I am thrilled to announce both the Ebook and the paperback will be released in February of 2022, and is now available for pre-order over on Amazon. https://www.amazon.ca/TANGOFISH-Carol-Anne-Shaw-ebook/dp/B09LRLNF1W/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=tangofish&qid=1636929902&sr=8-1
In the meantime, I leave you with the "blurb" from the novel's back cover, as well as the cover image, which I ADORE"
TANGOFISH
Tango and TJ have been best friends since forever, until the night all that changes.
Suddenly Tango is on her own. Without TJ, she's unsure how to be or who she is.
When she meets Nate, the darkness begins to lift, and the hole in her heart gets a little smaller. Nate is someone who "gets" her. He's been where she is, and he knows how to fix things.
But there is a difference between healing and hiding, and after a while, Tango isn't sure if Nate's way of coping with grief is the right way for her. When she meets 13-year-old Paisley, suddenly everything she thought she knew about the boy she loves is challenged.
But has Tango gone too far? And is she too lost to find her way back to herself?
TANGOFISH - a story of life after loss.
